EMD Batimo announces the acquisition of a strategic development site in Longueuil in collaboration with leading partners
EMD Batimo is proud to announce the acquisition of a large development site ideally located in Longueuil, on Montreal’s South Shore, further strengthening its presence in one of the Greater Montreal area’s most dynamic residential markets.
The transaction was completed with the support of CBRE’s National Investment Team, which acted as advisor to the seller, Fonds Immobilier Champlain RPA. Their expertise was instrumental in the successful completion of this significant real estate transaction.
Located along Chemin de Chambly, the site benefits from a highly strategic location near the Exo commuter rail station, as well as a wide range of nearby retail, services, and everyday amenities. Encompassing more than 316,000 square feet, the property is zoned to allow for the development of two residential projects, totaling approximately 950,000 buildable square feet.
This acquisition reflects the confidence of EMD Batimo and its partners in the strength of Montreal’s suburban residential market, which continues to stand out for its sustained level of new construction activity and steady rental demand growth.
EMD Batimo thanks all parties involved for their collaboration and looks forward to continuing the development of transformative projects that contribute to urban vitality and the sustainable development of local communities. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2026, with a groundbreaking planned for the summer of 2026. Additional details will be shared in the coming months.
