It was at the sales office of 1111 Atwater that Francis Charron, president of Batimo and vice-president of EMD Construction, welcomed more than 20 MBA students from the Schulich School of Business – York University of Toronto. Once again this year, EMD-Batimo has decided to make a difference in the lives of the people of in its community by organizing a Christmas dinner for those in needs within Saint-Eustache region. This festive evening was a special occasion to give back to the community and help people in need by offering them an extraordinary evening. “For us at EMD-Batimo, making a difference in the lives of others is in our DNA. It is with honour and pride that the presidents of EMD-Batimo, Francis Charron and Marc Dubuc, received the Award for Excellence in the Best Residential High-Rise Development Americas for the 1111 Atwater project. Accompanied by Mr. Sarto Blouin of High-Rise Montreal (project partner), this prestigious award was presented by the founding president of the International Property Awards, Mr. Stuart Shields and Lord Thurso, member of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. The special event celebrating international winners took place at the Savoy Hotel in London on December 2, 2019. After winning the Best Residential High-Rise Development and Best Marketing Development Awards in Canada last October at the Canadian Property Awards, 1111 Atwater earned a place among the world’s elite, ranking among the 5 finalists in the running for Best International Residential High-Rise Development. The winner of this category was the majestic Federation Tower project in Moscow, which is 373.7 meters (1,226 feet) tall and valued at over C $ 1.5 billion. This is the first international recognition for EMD-Batimo, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last September. Completely redesigned and rebuilt within the upcoming Chartwell Greenfield Park Retirement Residence, the Champion Bowling Alley is now open! The Champion originally opened its doors in 1959 and was closed in 2017 when the construction of the new residence started. Incorporating the most advanced technologies, the new bowling alley offers a whole new experience both for the most experienced players and for families looking for a good time. Several dignitaries and project partners, such as Côte St-Luc Real Estate Corporation, were present at the official opening ceremony held on February 20th. “We put all our best efforts into this new venue, and it shows. 200 guests attended the pre-opening event of the Chartwell Greenfield Park residence and the Champion bowling alley. On December 17, the attendees were greeted at Plaza Rive-Sud where they enjoyed fun games in a festive atmosphere. Members of the Chartwell and EMD Construction – Batimo teams presented the progress of the project, with a particular attention to the details surrounding the new version of the Champion bowling lanes and the exclusive privileges that will be offered to Chartwell residents. 50 lucky winners each took home a vintage bowling pin from the original Champion lanes. Priceless pieces of the bowling alley’s history! The opening of the Champion is scheduled for next February and the opening of the Chartwell Greenfield Park residence will take place in summer 2019. This holiday season, Francis Charron, president of Batimo, has the privilege to be honorary co-president of the Chevaliers de Colomb of Saint-Eustache’s 103rd food drive. A goal of 1000 baskets has been set for this year’s collection. “I’m counting on the help of my team to reach our enormous goal together, so that Christmas is the same for every family, regardless of its financial status,” said Francis Charron. On December 1st, several EMD Construction – Batimo employees took part in the food drive, going door to door in St-Eustache. Food is also being collected in the company’s many real estate projects in the Montreal and Quebec City regions. Le Nobilis Retirement Complex has notably amassed 32 Christmas baskets and nearly $ 1,400 in donations. In the same spirit, on November 30th, the EMD – Batimo team also organized, cooked and served a Christmas spaghetti dinner for 160 members of Christ-Roi Parish in St-Eustache.. A friendly competition was led by Activac, to help motivate the 50 employees present to prepare this community meal for families in need. The EMD – Batimo group is proud to announce that it has received two prizes at the most recent edition of the USA & Americas Property awards. The company was awarded Best Canadian Residential Development for the Chartwell L’Envol project located in Cap-Rouge, becoming the first retirement home to receive this honor in Canada. EMD-Batimo was also awarded best website for a real estate developer in Canada. Francis Charron and Marc Dubuc, presidents of EMD-Batimo, held a special event on November 13 to officially present the award. Many guests attended such as future residents of L’Envol, partners of the project and special dignitaries such as Mrs. Genevieve Guilbault (Deputy for Louis-Hébert, Deputy Premier, Minister of Public Security and Minister Responsible for the Capitale-Nationale Region) and Joel Lightbound (Member of Parliament for Louis-Hébert). A groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 9th, 2018, officially launching the construction of Chartwell L’Envol residence located in Cap-Rouge. This new complex, unique of its kind, will be located within the redevelopment of the Cap-Rouge Mall, offering a close to a wide range of convenient services for the residents. About 300 future residents of the Chartwell Le St-Gabriel retirement complex discovered the common areas of the new retirement home developed by EMD Construction – Batimo on April 19. During this special moment, the guests had the opportunity to meet the employees they will meet on a daily basis as well as the partners who made this project possible. Several local officials were also present, such as the Mayor of Longueuil, Ms. Sylvie Parent. With its picturesque and charming country architecture, the $60 million complex includes 345 apartments, including 278 for independent retirees, 35 prestige apartments as well as a 32-unit care centre for semi-autonomous people. Batimo and EMD Construction are pleased to announce their partnership with Immostar and Chartwell and an investment of more than $100 million for the redevelopment of Mail Cap Rouge, located in Quebec City. This megaproject for mixed use includes the revitalization of the shopping center and the creation of a new retirement residence. Chartwell Retirement Residences, the largest owner and manager of retirement housing in Canada, in partnership with Bâtimo and EMD Construction, will build a new residence adjacent to the Cap-Rouge Mall, a unique feature in the Cap-Rouge area. This one-phase residence will consist of 360 units including studios, 3 ½, 4 ½ and 5 ½, as well as 36 high-end units for semi-independent living.
